The
Lightning
Rod
A post-traumatic growth intensive using flow science and transcendent technologies — for those who have come through something significant, and are ready to build from what it made possible.
Maybe it came through a great grief that rewrote your sense of reality. A spiritual awakening, a spontaneous opening, a meditation practice that cracked something loose. Through burnout, illness, labour, or a moment of beauty so intense it dissolved the boundary between you and everything else. Something shifted — and the frameworks you had before, psychological, spiritual, medical, don't quite fit anymore.
Most post-traumatic growth work loops. It stays in the body or stays in the head. It revisits the wound without moving through it. This is different.
Flow is the state where post-traumatic growth becomes possible. Kotler and Friston's 2026 research shows flow is the state in which the nervous system is most open to updating its predictions — which is precisely what post-traumatic growth requires. But flow here is not a narrow nervous-system trick. It is a doorway into open prediction, into expanded consciousness, and into a practical architecture of meaningful action. Inside it, the growth becomes possible and the sacred opens.
The method.
Three bodies of knowledge, held at once.
There is a spectrum that runs from deliberately cultivated flow states — the neuroscience of optimal experience, the brainwaves of meditation and deep creativity — all the way to full mystical dissolution, spiritual emergency, the experience of reality cracking open. These are not different phenomena. They are the same territory at different intensities.
Each has its own distinct work — flow has its practices, post-traumatic growth its reflections and reconstruction, the sacred its teachings and technologies. But these aren't three modules you complete in order. In every session, flow is the state, post-traumatic growth is the work, and the sacred is the larger context — held at once.
Opens the system
We establish your flow baseline and use targeted practices to shift your nervous system out of frozen inference and into the state of open prediction. Genuine post-traumatic growth narrative work is hard to do while contracted. Flow is the door — and the room you stay in while the rest of the work happens.

Does the work
In an open, flowing nervous system, we map the five post-traumatic growth domains against your specific experience. Narrative reconstruction — not processing, not revisiting — converting what happened into usable growth capital. What the rupture changed in you, and what those changes are pointing toward.

Where it arrives
Tedeschi and Calhoun identify spiritual change as one of the five core post-traumatic growth domains — not supplementary but intrinsic. We use transcendent technologies — Yoga Nidra, somatic anchoring, Hillman’s acorn cartography, ancient navigational wisdom — to land the growth somewhere specific: in aliveness, in meaning that holds under pressure, in the beauty made from the break. Not service as obligation. The particular direction that only you, having been through this, can now take. Soul purpose — uncovered, not invented.

Integration is not about returning to who you were. It's about finding out who you are now, and how to live from there.
The word for what you're in — across traditions, across centuries — is initiation. The dissolution of the old self before the new one has fully formed. The dark night before the dawn. Inside the chrysalis, in imaginal cells, dreaming of the butterfly.
It is not comfortable. It is not supposed to be. But it is not, despite how it feels, without direction.
The Flow State
Post-Traumatic Growth Blueprint.
You come away with a comprehensive written document — prepared during and after the intensive, specific to you, built from everything we uncovered together. Your blueprint, map, and method, to return to long after the day itself.
Your Flow State Post-Traumatic Growth Blueprint
A three-part document prepared during and after the intensive — specific to you, built from everything we uncovered together.Your Post-Traumatic Growth Domain Map
The five growth domains assessed and named against your specific experience. What happened, what it changed in each domain, and what those changes are revealing about who you are becoming. The first time most people have seen their adversity mapped as growth rather than damage.
Your Flow Protocol
Your personalised flow cycle assessment — what's blocking access, and a bespoke daily practice protocol for reliable entry into peak states and how to sustain them over time. Specific to your neuroscience, your life, your work.
Soul Purpose
What the whole arc is actually pointing toward — named with precision. Soul purpose is not a career or a mission statement. It is what only you can make of what you’ve been through: your essential contribution, the beauty made from the break. The kintsugi moment — rejoined with gold, more whole for having broken. Aliveness, meaning, clarity and peace as the natural expression of who you’ve become. Kaufman calls this transcendence: going beyond self-actualisation into service to something larger. For those who have come through something, it turns out to be one of the most direct routes there. Not as a reward for the work, but as evidence that it has landed — the particular quality of aliveness that arrives when you are fully in your life, not managing it, not performing it, but inhabiting it. This is what the whole arc has been pointing toward.
What shifts, even in four sessions
This isn't the full 90-day arc — it's a concentrated pass through all five domains, enough to name where you stand in each and give you a real foothold, not a finished transformation.
- Aliveness — you leave with a felt sense of the intensity you carry as fuel, not a problem to manage.
- Clarity — the thing you've been circling starts to look nameable, not just felt.
- Presence — you get a taste of being where you are, instead of performing it — enough to know what you're working toward.
- Beauty — a shift, even briefly, from chasing flow to standing in it.
- Meaning — the beginning of a working answer to what this was for.

Ready to go further?
The Lightning Rod is complete in itself. But if it opens something you want to go further with, it's the natural doorway into Catch the Lightning — the full 90-Day Forge, limited to four people at a time. Rod clients are the first I talk to about places.
If you continue into the Forge, your Blueprint doesn't start over — it's the foundation. Your Domain Map and Flow Protocol carry forward, and by Day 90 they've grown into your full four-part Master Blueprint, with your Calendar and Soul Navigation added.
You have been through something.
And you are ready to use everything.
The Self that was navigating your old life has gone quiet, or gone strange, or gone entirely. The ordinary frameworks — psychological, professional, spiritual — have stopped working. What you need isn't management. It isn't a diagnosis. It isn't someone who will either pathologise what happened or perform amazement at it. It's someone who knows the territory from the inside — and understands that what's happening is neither madness nor enlightenment, but something that requires both rigour and reverence to move through.
Breakdown, burnout, loss, a spiritual opening, a relationship ending, a career collapse, a body failing. You are functioning. What you don't yet have is a framework worthy of what you've been through — or a way to harness it into what comes next.
You have vocabulary for what happened. You understand the patterns. You can feel the growth that's trying to happen. What's missing isn't more insight — it's the state in which insight can actually land. Flow opens that. The transcendent technologies give it somewhere to go. That's what makes this different from work you've already done.
Not a crisis. Not stuck. Just the clear sense that what you've been through is pointing toward something, and you want to find out what. The Lightning Rod gives that direction a name, a map, and a practice.
You need the neuroscience and the ceremony held simultaneously. You are allergic to spiritual bypass and equally allergic to frameworks that ignore the sacred dimension of what you've been through. This holds both. That's the point.
A spontaneous energetic opening, a meditation or breathwork experience that went further than expected, an awakening that won't quite close. A profound loss or illness that cracked your sense of reality. You are intelligent enough to want a rigorous framework, and honest enough to know that what happened was real.

I know the difference between breakdown and breakthrough — and I understand that in the middle of the experience, it can be impossible to tell them apart. What I bring is someone who can hold both the rigour and the genuine strangeness of what is happening, without collapsing one into the other.
This intensive exists because I needed it and it didn't exist. I built the framework from Kotler and Friston's flow science, Tedeschi and Calhoun's post-traumatic growth research, Kaufman's extension of Maslow, depth psychology, and twenty-five years of practice in the contemplative and somatic traditions. It is rigorous, evidence-grounded, and genuinely transformative.
I work in the Expert Companion tradition developed by Tedeschi and Calhoun — present to both the rigour and the genuine strangeness of what is happening, able to hold both without collapsing one into the other. The territory is not theoretical.
